St. Charles, MN Karen Kay Fort, 54, of St. Charles, MN, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at her home. Karen was born on April 1, 1953 in Winona, MN to Roger and Marilyn (Hill) Brown. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1971. On November 27, 1971 she married Greg Fort at the Catholic Church in St. Charles. She worked at St. Charles Dental, Camera Art, and did in-home daycare for 26 years. Karen was an involved member of the St. Charles Moose Lodge, Women of the Moose, and managing the kitchen. She enjoyed collecting angels, shopping, and her beautiful flowers on her deck. She will be dearly missed. Karen is survived by her husband of 35 years, Greg, three children; Jackqueline (David) Vaughn of St. Charles, MN, Jamie (Ronda) Fort of Caledonia, MN, and Nathan (Krista) Fort of Mora, MN; seven grandchildren, Derek, Kennedi, Payten, Kaden, Jackson, Kooper, and Imanuel; her parents, Roger and Marilyn Brown; two sisters, Sherrie (Charles) Hawk and Deb (Tom) Slavin both of St. Charles, MN; brother, Jeff (Jeni) Brown of Holmen, WI; and seven nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service for Karen will be at 11:00AM at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles on Friday, August 31 with the Reverend James Callahan officiating. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Thursday, August 30 at Hoff Funeral Home-St. Charles Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
