LOONEY VALLEY / RURAL HOUSTONJustin Andrew Carpenter, 34 of Looney Valley, died suddenly on Sunday, May 5, 2013 in his home.Justin was born on April 6, 1979 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. He was raised in Nodine and moved to Houston when he was 7 years old. Before graduating from Houston High School in 1997, Justin enjoyed working at farmer's elevator and later the truck stop. A grease monkey at heart, Justin had a natural knack for diesel mechanics. Most recently, he has been working for CD Corp. in Winona. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, and 4-wheeling with his children.Justin is survived by his parents, Karen (Jake) Krumrie and Tim Carpenter of Houston; significant other of over 7 years, Cassie Schleich; sons, Bo and Cody Carpenter; daughter, Jolene Carpenter; siblings, Chad Erlandson of Winona and Laurie Kappauf of Grand Junction, CO; maternal grandmother, Arlene Cornwell; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Burndette and William Carpenter; maternal grandfather, LaVerne Cornwell; uncles, Arthur "Sonny" Cornwell and Lawrence Cornwell; cousins, Jason Carpenter and Myles "Butch" Cornwell.Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in Houston and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.
