Rochester Justice David "Shorty" Clark, 76, of Rochester died Monday December 1st at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester. He was born April 18, 1927 in Courtland, Kansas to George and Hazel (Lynn) Clark. He joined the US Army in April of 1948 and saw combat during the Korean War. Justice and Alice " Mary" St. Martin were married on April 18, 1953 in Faribault, MN. Justice continued to serve in the Army; he was stationed in Elizabeth, PA from 1957-59, Milwaukee, WI 1959-60, Regensburg, Germany 1960-63, El Paso, TX 1963-66, Fairbanks, Alaska 1966-68 and Dillsboro, Indiana from 1968 until retiring from the Army and moving to St. Charles in 1969. Justice and Mary later moved to Rochester in 1991. Mary died November 5, 1992. Justice was a life-member and past-commander of the St. Charles American Legion, a member of the St. Charles Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rochester American Legion, Rochester Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Rochester Chapter of Korean War Veterans. Survivors include three sons, Steve (Barb) Clark of Chatfield, Dennis (Nan) Clark of Rochester and Patrick (Lori) Clark of Oronoco, a daughter Lynn (Gerald Tesch) Thompson of Rochester, 10 grandchildren, a brother Jim Clark of Hot Springs, South Dakota and a sister Mary (William) Pitcher of St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to his wife Mary, two brothers George and Ted and a sister Jeanette have died. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? St. Charles Chapel, with Funeral Celebrant John Wagenaar officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Rochester. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday and one hour before services at the funeral home. Members of St. Charles and Rochester American Legions will serve as pallbearers and conduct military graveside honors.
