Julie Ann Werner

February 23, 1943 — January 20, 2025

Julie Werner, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on January 20, 2025, at the age of 81.

Julie was born on February 23, 1943, in Independence, WI.

On April 28, 1962, Julie celebrated her marriage in Independence, WI, to Donald J. Werner. Julie poured her heart into her family, creating lasting memories with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her legacy is woven with the countless quilts she lovingly crafted for them.

Julie was a remarkable cook. She had a passion for sewing and embroidery, crafting personalized Christmas stockings and even wedding dresses for loved ones. A former seamstress at Winona Knitting Mills, she later contributed her efforts at Winona Health’s housekeeping department, always taking great pride in caring for others.

In her leisure time, Julie found joy in bowling and the thrill of the casino, where she enjoyed a few big wins that brought smiles and excitement to her life. She enjoyed making countless desserts for all to have. An honest and genuine person, Julie had a delightful sense of humor.

Julie is survived by her children, Cory Jamieson, Donna (Dean) Brevig, and Don M. (Chris) Werner; grandchildren, Brianna (Ryan) Sather, Lance (Stephanie) Schiltz, Drew (Lindsay) Schiltz, Brad (Nicole) Brevig, Eric Schiltz, Brendan (Shayde McKay) Brevig, Jeremy Werner, and Jordyn Werner; great grandchildren, Trent and Makena Sather, and Aria, Malcolm, and Ryder Schiltz, William, Natalie, and Maddison Schiltz, and Lucas and Rylee Brevig; fur baby, Josie Jo; and several other relatives and friends.

Per her wishes, private family services will be held.
