WINONAJudie Elaine( Hazelton) Hokenstad On May 10 Judie passed away peacefully with her family by her side. As a loving wife, mother and friend she will be greatly missed. Judie was born and raised in Winona and graduated from Winona Senior High in 1963. She continued her education and became a Real Estate agent as well as a draftsman although her real passions were in music and art. She accomplished so many of her dreams such as leading a music group back in the 70's and even became a self taught artist. She firmly believed one could accomplish anything simply by putting your mind to it. For the last couple years she has taught art at the Senior Center and learned to play a ukulele. Even in her death she has shared her loving personality by being a donor, helping others to live on. Judie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Edson and Merna Hazelton; Survived by her patient and loving husband John Hokenstad, Children Travis Sobeck, Tracy and her husband Yale Bernadotte, Alex and Rachel Hokensted, John and his wife Vicky Hokenstad, Grandchildren Gavin and Gage Quinn, Kelsey and Mickayla Sobeck, John, Jacob and Katie Hokenstad, Peyton and Gabi Bernadotte, great grandchildren Kieran and Gavyn, Brother Roy and wife Mary lou Hazelton and her joy, doggies Andy and Charlie. A celebration of life will be held at the Holzinger lodge of Winona on Thursday, May 15 beginning at 4pm. This is a gathering of friends and family with a memorial potluck dinner beginning at 6 pm following a small ceremony at 5pm. The family is asking that guests bring a favorite dish to share instead of sending flowers.
