Josephine Marie Harder, known to her loved ones as Jody, passed away on January 19, 2024 at the age of 71. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 10, 1952 to Walter and Harriet Schrul.
Jody was a great mom, wife, mother in law, grandma, sister, and aunt. She had a special bond with her son Jordan, and they shared many wonderful memories from the trips they took together. Her coworkers remember Jody as a caring and fun-loving individual. She had a special connection with animals, and they loved her. Over the years she was a dog groomer, a volunteer at Como Zoo, and had rabbits, and many cats, and dogs. Jody was always ready to break into song if a favorite oldie came on, no matter where she was at the moment! Jody loved to cook and bake, and was always experimenting on her family. Jody's family was the most important thing in her life, and she loved them with all her heart.
Jody began her long career as a 411 operator for the Bell System after graduating from Harding High School in St. Paul. She continued to work in the communication industry for many years until her retirement.
Jody is survived by her loving husband, Brian; her son, Jordan, along with her daughter-in-law Risa; and granddaughter, Chellsie; also her sister, Becky and husband Steve, sister, Toody, and brother, Al and his wife, Annie; as well as her many nieces and nephews, spanning two generations.
The memory of Jody's vibrant spirit and unwavering love for her family will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
