Altura, Joseph "Joe" Edward Meisch, 91, of Oak Ridge in rural Altura died Tuesday, January 24th at his home. Joe was born June 19, 1920 in Winona County to Edward and Mathilda (Mandalke) Meisch. Joe was an innovative business owner, starting with radios and TV's, settling on automotive electric. Co-owner of Meisch Brothers Garage, established in 1938, Joe lived his entire life in his childhood home in Mount Vernon Township of Winona County. He completed 8th grade, then continued his education throughout his life. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone. Joe's Legacy, Meisch Brothers Garage, will continue under Charles Meisch and Matthew Jaeger, both of whom he mentored. Joe is survived by his nephew Charles R. Meisch and his wife Marcia, their daughter Rachel and Matthew Jaeger. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Mary Meisch. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Mathilda Meisch and a brother Charles A. Meisch. A Funeral Mass for Joe will be 11AM Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with the Reverend Thomas Melvin officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Oak Ridge.
