John Sim

John D Sim, 87, of Rochester, died Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Meadow Lakes Senior Living in Rochester. John was born September 4, 1936 in Medford, WI to James and Milly Sim. John and Vionne Nelson were married November 1, 1958. She died in 1978. John married Carol Glidden in June of 1987. He worked as an accountant for Woodruff Company of Rochester until his retirement. John and Carol enjoyed traveling in their retirement. He also enjoyed having church fellowship in his home. John was a caregiver, having cared for Vionne in her illness and for Carol the last years of his life. 

Survivors include his wife Carol, a daughter, Gwen (Vernon) Mote of Utica, two sons, Richard (Susan) Sim of Rochester and Jeri Sim of Kasson, two daughters of Carols, Marcia (Rick) Olsen and Laure (Mick) Johnson, as well as many grandkids and great-grandkids to sweeten their life. He was preceded in death by his first wife Vionne and three siblings, Jim, Dianna, and Bob Sim. 

A private family burial will take place at Fremont Scotch Cemetery in rural Utica. Hoff Funeral Service of St. Charles is assisting the family with arrangements. www.hofffuneral.com.
