John Schultz, Jr.

John Clarence "Hunsie" Schultz, Jr. 83 of Lewiston, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse.John was born April 3, 1931 in Bethany Township to John Clarence Schultz Sr. and Florence (Prudoehl) Schultz. He attended Benedett Country School through the 8th grade. John then began working on farms until being drafted in the United States Army. He served his country honorably from 1953-1955, stationed in Germany as a Tank Driver. Following his discharge, he moved to Cedar Rapids, IA where he worked at Wilson Packing Plant until his retirement. He moved back to Lewiston to enjoy his retirement and be close to his family. He was a faithful member of Our Savior's Moravian Church in Altura. John enjoyed playing cards, woodworking and traveling.He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Eugene "Louie" (Marlene) of Lewiston, Daniel "Coony" (Lorraine) of Lewiston, Betty Barber of Stewartville, Richard (Joanne) of Lewiston, Judi (John) Randall of Lewiston and Dorothy (Dean) Nuszloch of Utica; sister-in-law, Jean Schultz and many nieces and nephews.John is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roy; brother-in-law, Dennis Barber and nephew, Ron Schultz.Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Our Savior's Moravian Church in Altura with the Reverend Dave Sobek officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Moravian Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 -7 p.m., Tuesday at the church and one hour prior the service. Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - Lewiston is assisting the family with arrangements.
