John M. Sagen

John "Jack" M. Sagen, 80, died Thursday, March 06, 2008, at his home in Winona, MN. Jack was born October 13, 1927 in Winona, MN to Layton and Violet (McDonald) Sagen. Jack served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He married Kathryn A. Witt on November 5, 1949 at St. Thomas Pro-Cathedral Catholic Church in Winona, MN. Jack worked for 25 years at St. Mary's Press. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was an athlete in his day as well as an avid sports fan. Jack was a member of Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; four children, Mary (Wayne) Frahm of Rochester, MN, Ann Lee of Winona, MN, Kathy Sagen of Winona, MN and John Sagen of Winona, MN; grandchildren, Matt (Tricia) Lee, Jana (Todd) Harrington, Joe (Bobbi) Frahm, Jeff (Marla) Frahm, Jacob Frahm, Lindsey, Shannon and Ashley Sagen; and great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Riley, Casey, Hannah and Will. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Art, son-in-law, Tom Lee and daughter-in-law, Lori Sagen.A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, March 10, 2008, at 11:00am at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Reverend Richard Colletti officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona, MN. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel on Sunday from 3-7:00pm where there will be a Christian Prayer Service held at 7:00pm.
