John A. Wunderlich, 85, of Lewiston died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford, MN surrounded by his family.John was born March 17, 1925 in Winona, MN to Arthur and Mildred (Anderson) Wunderlich. He grew up in Cedar Valley. In 1943 he graduated from Winona Senior High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. After being honorably discharged from the army in 1946 he returned home and the family moved to the current farm in Rush Creek Valley. He continued to farm there until his retirement in 1988. He married Dorothy Bellock on June 28, 1975 at the Family Farm. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing cribbage with his daughters and spending time with his family.He is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughters, Jenni (Bruce) Bunke, Rushford and Penny Wunderlich, Lewiston; sisters Joan Gates, St. Joseph, WI and Patricia Schwanbeck, Rushford, MN; Granddaughters Mikayla and Kaitlyn Bunke; Step-daughters, Sheryl (Gary) Medley, Macomb, MI and Elizabeth (Steven) Fenner, Saginaw, MI; Step-grandsons, Joseph Medley and Erik and Ian Fenner; Nephews Mark (Gail) Schwanbeck, Lewiston and Greg (Nancy) Schwanbeck, Lake City, MN and his beloved dog Rusty.He was preceded in death by his parents; Brother-in-law, Harold Schwanbeck; Niece, Julie Gates and his Aunts and Uncles.Funeral Services will be 1PM Tuesday at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Reverend Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will follow in Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8PM Monday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford.
