Joan (Schaber) Brogan

Joan (Schaber) BroganJoan was born on December 6th, 1932 in St. Charles, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Leslie and Blanche Schaber. Joan graduated from St. Charles High School in 1950. On May 12th, 1959 she married Bernie Brogan at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rochester, Minnesota. She was employed with the First Bank System for 52 years, starting in Rochester and later worked in Minneapolis. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Edina, Minnesota. Joan lost her two-year courageous battle with cancer on Thursday (Thanksgiving) morning at her home in Edina. Her family members surrounded her at the time of her death.Joan loved to travel in the United States and abroad. She enjoyed listening to music, concerts at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis and attending Broadway Shows. She particularly favored the Christmas Holiday and Gladiolus Days Festival. She loved viewing beautiful sunsets and waterfront sceneries. She loved coming home and spending time at the homestead. She cherished the relationships of her loving family and friends.Joan was preceded in death by both her parents (Leslie and Blanche) and a brother (Ronald Schaber). She is survived by her husband (Bernie), one brother (Richard Schaber) and his wife (Linda), nieces, nephews, cousins, her flower girl and family. She leaves behind many friends and former bank customers.Reviewal will be at Hoff Funeral Home - St. Charles Chapel on Friday evening from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again prior to the Funeral Services from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles, Minnesota. A Rosary will be recited at 4:30 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. with Father James F. Callahan presiding. Burial is to occur after the mass and will be at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in St. Charles, Minnesota.
