James L. Clark, 83, of Rochester died Wednesday, November 16th at Mayo Clinic Hospital - Rochester St. Mary's Campus. Jim was born April 18, 1933 in Rochester to Scott and Martha (Fick) Clark, and was raised in West Albany. He graduated from Lake City's Lincoln High School in 1951. Jim and Joan Shatzka were married on June 16, 1957 in Bison, SD. He worked for Di-Acro Tool and Die in Lake City for more than 22 years, until their closing. He then worked for a short time as a security guard at RCTC. In 1990 Jim and Joan moved to northwest Rochester. There he worked for IBM, assembling computers until his retirement. As a member of the International Association of Machinists, Jim was dedicated to his union. He took pride in supporting his union brethren. Away from work Jim found joy in fishing in any body of water that held fish. He had a passion for red Mercury Grand Marquis cars. Jim was a member of Faith Methodist Church in Eyota.
Survivors include his wife Joan, their son Kevin (June) Clark of Fergus Falls, MN, grandchildren; Scott Clark (Kristin Canfield) of Pine Island, Ross Clark of Rochester, Amber (Bill) Miller of Charlotte, NC, Mindy (Jason) Ditch of Maple Grove, great-grandchildren; Aubrey Clark, Isaac Canfield, Beth Clark, Sophie and Owen Ditch. He was preceded in death by his brother Scotty Clark.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota with Pastor Mark Woodward officiating. A reception will follow with burial in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
