RUSHFORD, MINN. - Jerry Albert Marin 55, of Rushford, died on Monday, August 24, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Jerry was born on March 13, 1954, in Winona, Minn. to Stanley and Marcy (Volkman) Marin. He lived in Germany for a couple of years as a small child while his father was serving in the Military. Jerry was raised in rural Rushford and graduated from Rushford High School in 1972. He attended Winona Vo-tech for two years in the Farm Management Program. On September 6, 1975, he married Patty Johnson in Waukon, Iowa. Jerry worked for Madison Silo and the Schueler Mink in Rushford. He then worked with his family on the Marin family farm, which he enjoyed more than anything. He was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn., where he held many church office positions. He was also a member of the DHIA Board. He is survived by his wife, Patty; parents: Stanley and Marcy Marin of Rushford; three daughters: Tanya (Shaun) Forrester of Rushford, Trisha (Tanner) Eveland of Rochester, and Tracy (Greg Hazelton) of Goodview, Minn.; sister-in-law, Kelly Marin, two grandchildren: Noah and Lily; one brother, Glen Marin of Rushford; one sister, Cindy (Dave) Howe of Rushford; many nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles; and by Ryan Luhmann, who was like a son to Jerry. Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Doug. The funeral service for Jerry will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hart with the Rev. Harold Hintzman and Rev. David Meier co-officiating. Following the funeral service Jerry's body will be cremated with burial of his cremated body at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
