Jered Lorenz

Jered Charles Lorenz, 37, of Lewiston died Sunday, August 19th in floodwaters of Rush Creek near Enterprise. Jered was born October 6, 1969 in Winona to Charles and Nancy (Brand) Lorenz. He attended Lewiston High School. Following school he worked for Canton Mills of Minnesota City, Camera Art of Lewiston and TDI of Stockton. Jered currently worked as a self taught taxidermist. He loved the outdoors and lost his life in Rush Creek, where he first learned how to fish as a child. Jered lived and breathed for the chance to hunt with his two nephews. He often said he had "two families, his family and his good friends." Survivors include his parents, Nancy Lorenz of Lewiston & Chuck (Barb Shults) Lorenz of Bloomington, special friend Lisa Jacob of Lewiston, two brothers, Jody (Veronica) Lorenz of Lewiston and Todd (Kathy) Brand of Eyota, a sister Tricia (David Halbakken) Lorenz of Stockton, maternal grandparents Melvin and Anna Brand of Lewiston, two nephews and a niece, CJ Stiever, Joe & Victoria Lorenz, five aunts; Betty (Roger) Thesing of Utica, Darlene Whetstone of Lewiston, Joann (Bozy) Burt of Utica, Susan (Rick) Pagel of Utica and Kathy (Mike) Klagge of Elgin, two uncles Dan (Kris) Brand of Lewiston and Merlin (Lou) Lidtke of Houston, and by his dog, Hawk. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles Lorenz and Coralyn Danielson, three uncles, Gary Lidtke, Carl and Leo Lorenz and his close friend Carl Huff. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston with the Rev. Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date in St. Rose Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home in Lewiston. They may also call one hour before services at the church. Pallbearers will be John Boehmke, Justin Schott, Jeremy Schott, Ron Jon "Jr." Westphal, Don "Duck" Ritter, and Kermit Burt.
