RUSHFORD, MINN. - Janet G. Post, 90, of Rushford, Minn. died on Monday, September 7, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford, Minn. Janet was born on April 14, 1919, in Hayfield, Minn. to James and Tina (Oian) Caldbeck Sr. She was raised in Hayfield and graduated from Hayfield High School. She graduated from the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. On June 22, 1941, Janet married Harvey J. Post in Hayfield. In 1947, Janet and Harvey moved to Rushford, Minn. where Harvey began his dental practice. Janet worked as a Registered Nurse at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford from 1967 to 1993. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, raising geraniums, bible study group, keeping up with current events and news, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janet's favorite movie was, "Quiet Man". She was very proud of her Irish and Norwegian Heritage. Janet was a member of the Rushford Lutheran Church and it's church circle, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Priscilla Club. Janet is survived by her husband, Harvey; five children: Carol Jean O'Brien of Apopka, Fla., Nancy Peter of Minneapolis, Minn., Susan (Dick) Rollefson of Cloquet, Minn., John (Scottie) Post of Vale, NC, and Peter (Connie) Post of Rochester, Minn.; four sisters: Olivia (John) Petrov of Coon Rapids, Minn., Lucille Ferguson of St. Paul, Minn., Verna Blackstock of Littleton, Colo., and Emily (Fred) Lambert of San Antonio, Tex.; one brother, Orlynn Caldbeck of Stewartville, Minn.; nine grandchildren: Sean, Christy, Mark, Todd, Janet, Ruth, Jason, Nicole, and Laura; eight great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, James "Skip" Caldbeck Jr. The funeral service for Janet will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, at the Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Following the service Janet's body will be cremated with burial of her cremated body in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rushford. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
