Jane Quamen

Jane Lavaughn Quamen, 87 of Rushford, died Monday, October 12, 2015 at Winona Health, surrounded by her family.Jane was born March 31, 1928 in Utica to Edward and Josephine (Woxland) Peterson, the oldest of four children. She graduated from Peterson High School in 1946 and in 1947 she married Richard Iverson, Sr. They were later divorced. They had one son, Richard, Jr. She was employed in her early years for Cutler-Hammer in Milwaukee as an industrial X-ray technician. In 1954, she moved to Los Angeles, CA where she was employed as a Bookkeeper/Office Manager and later became a Real Estate Agent. In 1957, she married Walter "Pete" Quamen and they had one daughter, Cindy. After 30 years in California, Jane and Pete retired and returned to Minnesota; first to St. Paul and in 1991 to Rushford. Almost daily, Jane would visit her parents at Good Shepherd Nursing Home and also volunteered there. She was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church and was Secretary/Treasurer of Eunice Circle for many years. She was also a member of American Legion Post 94 Auxiliary.Her passions were her home, family and 5 grandsons. She loved kittens, birds, flowers, cross word puzzles and travel. Jane and Pete traveled extensively, visiting Canada, Mexico and most of the United States. They took 3 Caribbean Cruises, visiting most of the Caribbean Islands and South America. They spent considerable time on the Islands of Barbados, St. Lucia and Jamaica. Jane also traveled to Europe with Cindy. She is survived by one son, Rick (Denise) Iverson; daughter, Cindy Eklund; five grandsons, Ricky and Dan (Tamara) Iverson, Justin, Austin and Brandon Eklund; two great-granddaughters, Kira & Kali Iverson; one sister, Connie (Gary) Boyum; sister-in-law, Ruth Peterson; brother-in-law, Ken Feine and many nieces and nephews.Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Pete in April 2015; brother, Dennis Peterson; sister, Doris Feine and son-in-law, Scott Eklund.Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2015 at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Reverend Jan King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
