HOFF FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE - RUSHFORD 507-864-7771 RUSHFORD , MINN. - James O. Himli, 90 of Rushford, Minn. died on Monday, September 19, 2011, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. James was born on July 26, 1921, in Rushford to John and Anna (Magnuson) Himli. He was raised in Rushford. James worked on his family's farm for several years. He married Christine Knutson in 1953 in Winona, Minn. Christine died in 1979. James worked for Miller Motors, P and J Motors and Dahl's Auto Works in Rushford as a mechanic for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by a son, Joe (Dorothy) of Rushford; three granddaughters: Sandra (Jeff) Kitzmann of Red Wing, Minn., Jennifer (Frank) Bearbower of Rushford and Tina (Matt) Stanton of Cochran, Wis.; six great-grandchildren: Eagan, Marshall, Autumn, Mya, Kaylee, and Preston; a sister, Agnes Glenna of Winona; and by many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Archie. There will be a funeral service for James at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford with the Rev. Merlin Stephan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Rushford. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
