James Lehnertz

James “Jim” Paul Lehnertz, 83 of Altura, died Monday, December 16, 2024 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

Jim was born December 20, 1940, in Winona to Alfred and Corrine (Scherbring) Lehnertz. He graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School in 1959. On July 31, 1970, he married Linda Lagasse at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Winona. 

Jim was a farmer through and through. It was his life’s work and his hobby, all wrapped up into one. Jim was an avid Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Twins fan. He also enjoyed attending Amish Auctions and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Leslie Bianchi and Lisa (Tim) Reps; son, Michael (Jennifer) Lehnertz; grandchildren, Heather (Storm) Seefeldt, Emily (Logan) Strand, Kylee Reps (Dustin Zillmer), Elizabeth Bianchi, Abigail Bianchi, Coben Reps, Cody Reps, Isabella Lehnertz, Julieanna Lehnertz and Michael “Junior” Lehnertz; and one great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Mary Jane Lehnertz (Kevin Iungerman), Jerry (Jan) Lehnertz and Joan (Arnie) Andreesen; and two brothers-in-law, Dale Arndt and Richard Patzner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Judy Arndt and Jean Patzner.

Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2024 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center – Goodview, led by Funeral Celebrant Jodi Heim. Visitation will be 9:30 until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow at the Community Center in Rollingstone.
