WINONAJames "Jim" Lee Storlie, 57 of Winona, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at home after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.Jim was born May 2, 1957 in Winona to Lyle and Carol (Fogal) Storlie. He attended elementary school in Winona and graduated from high school in Fall Creek, WI. After high school, he went into the Army, and then lived in Chatfield after he was discharged. Jim worked for Ziebart Rustproofing for several years. He then moved to Wisconsin Rapids where he opened several group homes and helped adults with developmental disabilities for over a decade. Later, he lived in Stockton to help care for his mother and began working for WinCraft in Winona. After the passing of his parents, Jim moved to Winona. Jim developed many friendships with his "working family." He cherished and thought highly of his friends at WinCraft. He was a kind and loving man who was always there for friends and family and helped others in need. Jim loved nature, wildlife, being outdoors, and had a passion for fishing. He enjoyed spending time fishing on the Mississippi River in his new boat.Jim is survived by his siblings, Judy (Steve) Kromrey of Minnesota City and Jay Storlie (Andria) of Elk River; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Nate, Brandon, Nick, and Hannah; great-nephew, Marcus; grandpa, Edward Fogal of Rushford; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Central Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior. Reverend Michelle Rem will officiate.
