James Curtis Kirchner, 86 of Rollingstone, died Friday, November 25, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester - St. Mary's Campus.
Jim was born November 10, 1930 in Sturgeon Bay, WI. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On August 1, 1953 he married Rosemary Meyers and they made their home in Wisconsin. Jim worked for Wisconsin Gas Company until his retirement. Following retirement, Jim began building a log cabin near Rollingstone where he and Rosemary eventually moved and spent the remainder of their years. Rosemary passed away in 2012.
Jim was active in Winona Volunteer Services and the Polish Museum. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.
He is survived by two daughters, Barb (Morgan) Olsen and Jill (Sheri) Kirchner; three grandchildren, Jacob Phillips, Missy Murphy - Porkony and Bryan Waters; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Chloe and Thomas; one brother, Jack Kirchner and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve; wife, Rosemary; daughter, Gloria Pleau; brother, Robert and sister, Darlene Bustamente.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview with visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
