ROCHESTER, MINN: James Edward Leemon, 39, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in Rochester, MN. Jim was born to James A. and Mary (Franz) Leemon on December 14, 1976, in Iowa City, IA. He graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in Waverly, Iowa, in 1995. On June 14, 2003, he married Amber Nicole Hansen in Rochester, MN. Jim was employed by Hy-Vee, Inc., for his entire working career, and he took great pride in his work there. Jim loved the outdoors. He particularly loved to fish and was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed making his own lures. Jim also enjoyed playing softball, gaming, and weightlifting. He loved spending time with his wife and dog. Jim and Amber enjoyed traveling. Jim was a very kind and compassionate person who enjoyed helping others. Jim is survived by his wife, Amber, of Rochester; parents James A. Leemon of Melbourne, IA, and Mary (Leo) Schubich of Independence, IA; brothers Jon Leemon (Katie Sprague) of Flemington, NJ, and Jeff Leemon (Gabriela Zeller) of Ottumwa, IA. Other survivors include parents-in-law Roger and Lenore Hansen of Miltona, MN; brothers-in-law Kevin Hansen (Mallory McKee), David (Angie) Hansen, Adam (Valerie) Hansen; four nephews; three nieces, and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, one uncle, one aunt, and one cousin.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Hoff Funeral Home Chapel in St Charles, MN led by funeral celebrant Ashley Hoff Czaplewski. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles, MN and one hour before the service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Please leave a memory of Jim and sign his online register book.
