James D. (Jim) Zacher, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 12, 2010, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. He was born on February 16, 1950, in Milwaukee, WI, to Donald and Beverly (Simpson) Zacher. Jim lived in Houston for much of his life working at TRW in Rushford, MN. About four years ago, Jim moved to Rushford and was currently employed by United Packaging Inc. in Peterson, MN. Jim was an out-going person who loved music, dancing, and socializing with friends. He was a volunteer for the "Houston Mafia" for the annual Houston Hoedown barbeque. He helped with fundraising efforts for the needy families in the area and volunteered to help serve the Christmas meal for the Senior Citizens Event each year.Jim will be missed by his companion, Roggie Himli of Rushford, MN; his son, James (Sandra) Rohweder of Reedsburg, WI; his sister Chris (Ron) Draper of Fountain City, WI; his brother, Jerry Zacher of Whitesburg, TN; granddaughters, Natalie, Allison and Julia Rohweder; nieces, Jaci (Dustin) Lenz, Alyssia Anador, Melina Anador and Ana Perkins; nephews, Josh (Julie) Finlayson, Eric Finlayson, Ryan Zacher and Jeremy Zacher; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pam.Jim will be remembered for his laughter, smile and out-going personality. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him, especially his granddaughters.A visitation to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Saturday, July 17th, from 10:00am until 11:30am at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service - Houston Chapel after which we will immediately go to Stone Church Cemetery in Houston for a graveside service.
