James Clarence Bruha, 79 of Winona, died Sunday, March 1, 2020 at his home.
Jim was born March 16, 1940 in La Crosse to Clarence and Alice (Smith) Bruha. On September 19, 1960, he married Carolyn Sue at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in La Crosse. Jim worked for Allis Chalmers in La Crosse and then La Port, IN. He then worked for Toro in Windom, MN before taking a job as the Vice President of Manufacturing for Polaris and living in Roseau, MN. Following retirement, Jim and Carolyn moved to Winona.
He loved the outdoors- elk hunting, fishing and going for walks were some of his favorites. Jim also enjoyed trips to the casino and many hunting and fishing trips spent with his boys.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of almost 60 years; four children, Jimmy, Rick (Linda), Paul and Tammy Cochrane; daughter-in-law, Julie Bruha; grandchildren, Stephen, Lauren, Jessica, Richard and Trevor; one great-granddaughter, Emily; sister, Kathryn Bakalars and many nieces nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff; and brother-in-law, Eugene Bakalars.
Per his wishes, private family services are being held. Memorials are preferred to the ALS Association.
