RUSHFORD, MINN. - Jacob A. "Jack" Reimann, 83, of Rushford died on Friday, March 2, 2007 at his home. Jack was born on August 21, 1923, in Grant County, North Dakota. He was raised in North Dakota. He moved to Lanesboro, Minn. as a young man and worked for the Civilian Conservation Corp. in the Lanesboro area. On June 30, 1942, Jack married Minerva Johnson in Chatfield, Minn. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. During his career in Lanesboro he operated a black smith shop, filling station, tractor shop, and was a farmer. He also worked as a Federal Crop Insurance Agent and Adjuster in Preston, Minn. He moved from Lanesboro to Rushford in 1997. He was a member of the Whalan Lutheran Church and the Lanesboro American Legion. His hobbies included playing the violin and woodworking. He also built his own home. He is survived by his son, Jerry (Lynn) Reimann of Rushford, Minn.; a daughter, Harriet (Paul) Douglas of Byron, Minn.; five grandchildren: Lori Nancy, Jennifer, Paul, and Mark; eight great-grandchildren: Jesse, Jerad, Steven, Amanda, Rachel, Jenna, Emily, and Alex; two brothers: Everett (Eileen) Haslid, and Byris Haslid both of Elgin, North Dakota; one sister, Goldie (Don) Gressman of Almogordo, New Mexico, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father: Regina and John Haslid; and one brother, Harold. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, at Whalan Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
