St. Charles, Izetta Anna Louise Decker, 89, of St. Charles died Sunday evening September 9, 2012 in route to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Izetta was born October 10, 1922 at Winona Community Hospital to Fred and Harriett (Holzworth) Schwanebeck. Following her graduation from Winona High School she attended Winona Business School and worked as a dental hygienist. She later worked for Camera Art of Lewiston. Izetta and Wayne Decker were married on June 28, 1944. They farmed and raised their family south of St. Charles, where she enjoyed sewing, baking, her flowers, gardening and bird watching. Izetta was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Over the years she had been involved in 4-H and Girl Scouts, and volunteered as a room leader at her children's school. In recent years she was involved in the Clyde Homemakers, Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary and the St. Charles Senior Citizens. Survivors include her six children; James (Marilyn) Decker of St. Charles, Susan (David) Bierly of Stewartville, Paul (Kathy) Decker of St. Charles, Ken (Marion) Decker of Utica, John (Starla) Decker of St. Charles and Wanetta (Vincent) Putzier of St. Charles, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a sister-in-law Fran Decker of St. Charles. Izetta was preceded in death by her husband Wayne on January 25, 1985, a granddaughter Paula, great-granddaughter Stephine and a sister Irene Kwoske. Funeral Services will be 11Am Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Reverend Stephan McGinley officiating. Burial will follow services at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
