Ivy M. McCune

HOUSTON, MINN. - Ivy M. McCune, 87, of Houston died Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston. Ivy was born on September 27, 1917, in Mound Prairie Township of Houston County to Clifford and Mabel (Doering) Orr. She was raised in Mound Prairie Township and Graduated from Houston High School. On June 11, 1943 she married Henry McCune in Newburg, Minn. Ivy graduated from Winona Teacher's College. She taught in Mabel Minnesota and taught third grade in Houston for many years. She was a member of the Houston American Legion Auxiliary, Easter Star, Houston County Historical Society and the Minnesota Territorial Pioneers. She took great interest in Houston County History and the genealogy of people from Houston County. She is survived by three daughters: Margo (Pierre) Hostyn, Heather McCune, and Maura McCune all of Palm Beach, Florida; one niece, Kay (Henry) Oehmigen; two nephews: Larry (Sandra) Langen and Tom (Nancy) Langen. She was preceded in death by her Husband and one sister, Violet Langen. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, at Hoff Funeral Homes ? Houston Chapel with the Rev. Clair and Fauntie Wilcoxon officiating. Burial will be in the Money Creek Cemetery in Money Creek, Minn. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel where all are welcome to stay for and Eastern Star Service following the visitation. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
