Isaac Jackson

Isaac Jackson, 88, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, MN. Isaac was born August 25, 1917 in Virginia, MN to Isaac E. and Anna (Soine) Jackson. Isaac served in the U. S. Army Air Corp during WWII and was a Flight Sgt. He married Josephine Robbins on July 3, 1945. Isaac was a mechanic for Ford Motors in the Iron Range. He was awarded the Best of the Best award for his excellent mechanic work and placed 2nd as the top mechanic of all Ford garages in the United States. Isaac is lovingly remembered a loving husband, father, grandfather and known as "Uncle Ike" by all the children that knew him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Isaac was a member of Living Light Church in Winona. Isaac was a first generation Finlander born in the United States and was proud of his Finnish decent. Survivors include his wife, Josephine; son, Jay (Katheryn) Jackson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; daughter, IdellAnn Larson of Winona, MN; grandchildren, Heather (Dion) Holmes and Holly (Fuad) Al-Abad both of Winona, MN, Eleanore Jackson of Los Angeles, CA and Sarah Jackson of Tokyo, Japan; and great-grandchildren, Tyraah, Mariah and Tatiana Holmes and Ali, Isaac and Yousef Al-Abad. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and Leo and sister, Helmi. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006, at 1:00pm at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service - Hansen Tribute Center in Goodview. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion of Winona immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home.
