Irene H. Richter

Irene H. (Thompson) Richter, 87, of Rochester died Saturday April 29th, 2006 at Madonna Towers in Rochester.Irene was born November 30, 1918 in Quincy Township of Olmsted County to Ceaver and Ida (Melius) Thompson. She received a Teaching Certificate from Winona State College. Irene and William Frederick Richter were married June 1, 1942. He died December 23, 1978. Irene had lived in Dover, Utica, Clarke's Grove, Hayfield and Rochester, before entering Madonna Towers. She had worked as an assistant to the Dover Postmaster for several years. Irene loved life. She was a constant and loving caregiver for family, friends, their homes and pets, especially dogs. Her hobbies were crafts and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed movies and TV shows. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston.Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Florence Thompson and Hilma Richter, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, three sisters and two nephews. Funeral services will be 11AM Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? Lewiston Chapel with the Rev. David A. Fischer of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lewiston. Friends may call from 10-11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
