St. Charles, MN Irene E. Decker, 85, of St. Charles, MN, died, Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Golden Living Center - Whitewater in St. Charles, MN. Irene was born on August 31, 1923 in Elba Township to Alois and Matilda (Putzier) Mueller. On January 23, 1944 Irene married John Decker at the Berea Moravian Church. Together they farmed on the Decker family farm in Elba Township before retiring to St. Charles. She sold Stanley products, Tri-Chem, and crafts that she made. Her hobbies included quilting, painting ceramics, crafting, going out to eat, and playing cards. She will be dearly missed. Irene is survived by her two daughters, Janice (Everett) Woodward of Eyota and Sharon (Richard) Beyer of Rollingstone; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond (Marcella) Mueller of St. Charles and Edward (Joann) Mueller of St. Charles; 5 sisters, Jeanette (Bernard) Wegman of Dover; Rita (George) Haag of Altura; Cecile (Walter) Schmit of Dover; Rose Struckman of Eyota; and Margaret Mundt of St. Charles; two brother-in-laws, Norman (Janet) Decker of Winona and Stanley Decker of Kasson; sister-in-law Alice Mueller of St. Charles; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John who passed away on January 23, 2009; three brothers, Joe, Alvin, and Everett; sister Emily Knoll; and two sister-in-laws Mildred and Hazel Decker. A Memorial Mass for Irene will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba, MN with the Reverend James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow at Saratoga Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30am on Saturday at the church in Elba.
