Ione Lenora Albert

Ione Lenora Albert, 100, of South Pasadena, CA, formerly of Lewiston and Rochester passed away Friday, January 11, 2008 in California. Ione was born February 16, 1907 in Black River Falls, WI and was married to Earl Henry Albert on December 6, 1930 in Winona County. They were blessed with three daughters; Audrey (Paul) Nahrgang of Queen Creek, AZ, Marjorie (Ted) Vail (deceased) and Earlene (Bob) Jackson of La Verne, CA. Ione was a homemaker and loved doing crafts, playing cards, making corn husk dolls, ceramics, sewing, babysitting and collecting dolls. She continued making quilts thru her lifetime. She made twenty quilts at the age of ninety for her church. Earl and Ione lived on a farm in rural Winona County, moved to Winona and then returned to a farm at North Warren Township in Winona County. Earl farmed and worked for Foxbilt Feeds (which became Triple F Feeds) for a number of years. Earl passed away on March 3, 1970. Ione lived at Park Towers in Rochester before moving to La Verne, CA in 1995. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served on a mission in Georgia from 1979-80. Ione is survived by her two daughters, Audrey and Earlene. Nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, twenty-six great-great-grandchildren and six great-great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband Earl, daughter Marjorie Vail, son-in-laws Gale Norman, Ted Vail and Paul Nahrgang, grandsons Frederick Althoff, Curt Bartelson, granddaughter Susan Schmitt, great-grandson Jay Barber and great-great-great-grandson Jonathon Barber. Services be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 120 Pleasant Hill Dr., in Winona, with President Troy Gunnell officiating. Burial will be in the Church of the Brethren Cemetery in rural Lewiston. Friends may call one hour before the services at the church.
