Ida McGuire

Dover, Ida Anna Marie McGuire, 101 of rural Dover died Friday morning December 5, 2003 at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. She was born September 21, 1902 in St. Nicholas, MN to Henry and Catherine (Beessener) Schoolmeesters. She and Clarence McGuire were married October 1, 1929 in Forrest City, MN. They farmed in Litchfield and Wabasha, MN before moving to Dover in 1942. Her husband died June 19, 1980. Ida was a farm homemaker and enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church & Catholic Daughters. Survivors include seven sons, John (Ann) McGuire and Gerald (Irene) McGuire both of Rochester; Charles (Barb) McGuire of LaCrescent; Michael (Marilyn) McGuire and David (Barb) McGuire both of Dover; Harold (Darlene) McGuire of St. Charles; Daniel (Shari) McGuire of Hesperia, CA, three daughters, Patricia (Keith) Kisro of Dover; Vera (Willard) Hentges of Yuba City, CA and Rita (Arnold) Weber of Stacyville, IA, two sisters Viola McCarthy of Willmar and Etheline Ring of Shawnie Mission, KS, 46 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Clarence, two daughters, Marilyn and Mary have died. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 3:30 ? 8 PM Sunday and 9-10 AM Monday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? St. Charles Chapel. There will be a Rosary recited at 4 PM and a Prayer Service at 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
