RUSHFORD, MINN. - Ida E. Rasmussen, 87, of Rushford, died Tuesday evening, January 6, 2004, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, in Rushford from complications of a stroke. Ida Evelyn Anbroson was born in Clifford, North Dakota on September 16, 1916, to Ole and Clara (Pladson) Ambroson. She married Alvin Rasmussen in Rushford, Minnesota on October 28, 1939. They farmed near Money Creek and Lewiston, Minn. until moving to Rushford, 1969. Alvin died in August of 1971. Ida was employed by the Rushford Public Schools as a cook from 1972, until her retirement and also enjoyed to reupholster furniture. She liked gardening, country music and reading cookbooks. She was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church and its' women's organizations. Ida is survived by one son, Allen (Barb) Rasmussen of St. Charles, Minn.; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Rasmussen of Stockton, Minn.; Five grandsons: Todd Rasmussen of Winona, Minn., Trevor (Dawn) Rasmussen of Stockton, Minn., Troy (Barb) Rasmussen of Rosemount, Minn., Quinn Rasmussen of Plainview, Minn. and Jordan Rasmussen of St. Charles, Minn.; two granddaughters: Tricia (Bob) Markwardt of Winona, Minn. and Anne Rasmussen of Janesville, Wis.; seven great-granddaughters: Ashley, Taylor, Megan, Bethany, and Callie Rasmussen and Courtney and Cheyenne Markwardt; one brother: Carl (Ruth) Ambroson of Mayville, North Dakota; two sisters: Ragna (Marvel) Guttormson of Portland, North Dakota and Leona Oglesby of Dundee, Florida; two sisters-in-law: Elaine Ambroson of North Mankato, Minn. and Gene Ambroson of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Ardell, in 1981, and granddaughter, Rachel in 1983, and six brothers and five sisters. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2004, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Watson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Church.
