Hugo Benedett

STOCKTON, Minn. -- Hugo Dale Benedett Jr., 75, of rural Winona, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at Community Memorial Hospital.He was born June 15, 1930, in Winona County to Hugo and Hazel (Duncanson) Benedett. He attended Lewiston schools and the University of Minnesota, where he studied agriculture. He married Harriett Labisky Sept. 2, 1961, in Plainview. The couplet farmed for many years near Stockton. Hugo was especially proud of his Guernsey cows and John Deere tractors.He was a member of Saint John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston and enjoyed woodworking.Survivors include his wife, Harriett; one daughter, Deborah (Richard) Nahrgang; and a granddaughter, Hannah. He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at Saint John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston with the Revs. David A. Fischer and Michael A. Lindemann officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Hoff Funeral Homes in Lewiston and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.Pallbearers will be Robert Lubahn, Bruce Barkeim, Brian Barkeim, Phil Rausch, Wally Nahrgang and Allyn Ellinghuysen.Hugo was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, and his humor, kindness and generosity will be deeply missed.
