Utica, Homer Mote, 93, of rural Utica died peacefully Monday December 10, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born January 20, 1914 in Brush, Colorado, where he farmed with his family until later moving to Forest City, IA. On January 1, 1946 Homer and Ardis Anderson were married. In March of 1959 the couple moved with their five children to Fremont Township of Winona County, where they have farmed since. Homer cherished his family and dearly loved those he worshiped with in the church that met in his home and others of like faith world wide.Survivors include his wife, Ardis, five children; Lorene (Vernon) Foner of Alexandria, MN, Terry (Marleen) Mote of Bloomington, Tom (Jan) Mote of Maple Plain, Vernon (Gwen) Mote of Utica and Becky (Del) Magsam of Roberts, WI, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday at the Lewiston Community Center with Roy Williams, Mike Sanford and Shari Stamps officiating. Burial will follow in Lewiston Public Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home in Lewiston and one hour before services at the Community Center.
