Herbert W. Johnson, of Winona, died Sunday at Lake Winona Manor. He was 87. He was born Aug. 17, 1929 to Herbert Sr. and Ethel Johnson. Herb was a member of the Pigeon Falls Lions Club in Pigeon Falls, Wis. and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Winona. He owned and operated the Du-Drop Inn in Pigeon Falls for over 25 years. He enjoyed coaching softball, playing cards and listening to the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers on the radio. Herb was an avid pool player and enjoyed traveling to Michigan to watch his daughter, Bobbi, play in state tournaments. Herb always reminded his children and grandchildren how proud he was of them and their accomplishments. Herb is survived by his sons, Barry, Rich and Daniel, his daughter Bobbi, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special thank you to Wally Northouse for being there when his children could not, and to Teresa and other staff members at Lake Winona Manor. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, Minn. A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Hillbilly Fun, formerly the Du-Drop Inn, in Pigeon Falls. Casual dress is requested for the visitation and services.
