HOUSTON, MINN. - Helen M. Henderson, 92, of Houston, died on Tuesday, January 2, 2006, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Houston. She was born on October 13, 1914, near Ridgeway, Minn. to Frank and Lena (Senn) Meinnert. She was raised south of Ridgeway. On November 18, 1933, she married Burton Henderson in Houston. She farmed with her husband for many years near Ridgeway, and lived on the farm until moving to the Valley View Nursing Home four years ago. Helen's interests included cooking, baking, gardening, flowers, sewing, quilting, embroidering, and three o'clock coffee. She was an active member of the Looney Valley Lutheran Church where she was a member of the WELCA and church circle. Helen is survived by two sons: Arlan (Doris) Henderson, and Gene (Anita) Henderson, both of Houston; one daughter-in-law: Marcia Henderson of Fort Collins, Colo.; eight grandchildren: Sarah (Ken), Steve, Sonia (Kenny), Susan (Aaron), Eric (Debbie), Andy (Tracy), Jane (Carl), and Tasha (Richard); ten great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Gary, who died this past week, one grandson, three brothers, and four sisters. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, at the Looney Valley Lutheran Church in rural Houston with the Rev. Jeff Forbes officiating. Burial will be at the Silver Creek Cemetery in rural Houston. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
