Lewiston, Helen M. Bonow, 82, of Lewiston died Friday December 10, 2004 at the Lewiston Villa. Helen was born April 13, 1922 in Hillsdale Township to John and Thekla (Zimmermann) Ellinghuysen. She and Ervin Bonow were married August 25, 1944 at Immanuel Lutheran Church ? Silo. The couple farmed in Norton Township until retiring and moving in to Lewiston in 1982. Ervin died February 22, 1985. Helen entered Lewiston Villa in November 4, 1999. Helen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Norton Township, Ladies Aid and Church Choir. Helen worked in kitchen at Lewiston High School and also volunteered at St. John's Lutheran School in Lewiston. Survivors include six children, Ila (Laverne) Robert of Pine River, WI; David (Shirley) Bonow of Lewiston; John (Marilyn) Bonow of Fremont Nebraska; Glen (Ruthie) Bonow of Altura; Luther (Deb) Bonow of Utica; Lyle (Jane) Bonow of Lewiston, 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, six step grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, two brothers, Reuben (Leann) Ellinghuysen of Winona and Alvin (Betty) Ellinghuysen of Winona, a sister Ruth Marking of Schuyler, Nebraska, a sister-in-law Hilma Bonow of Lewiston. In addition to her husband Ervin an infant brother and her parents preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Monday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norton Township of Winona County with the Rev. David M. Eckert officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
