Dover, MNHelen M. Carrigan, 81, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Helen was born April 28, 1923 in Dakota, MN to Joseph and Elsie (Lutz) Drexel. She married Harold K. Carrigan on November 11, 1961 in St. Charles, MN. He later died on April 2, 1991. Helen resided in St. Charles until 1966 when she moved to the farm north of Dover, MN. Helen worked nearly 17 years in the accounting and payroll department at Watkins Inc. in Winona, MN. She had been manager of the payroll department when she decided to leave and work with her husband with their Watkins dealership and distribution. Helen had been associated with Watkins since September 13, 1945 and was a member of the Watkins "Old Timers' Club". Helen was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where she had served as the church secretary for many years. She was also a member of the American Heart Association where she volunteered for many years in Quincy Township. Helen enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing.Survivors include her three sons, Wayne (Carol) of Chatfield, MN, Dale of Graettinger, IA and Dennis (Peggy) of Stockton, CA; two daughters, Muriel (Dean) Smith of Hayfield, MN and Maureen (Brent) Alt of Motley, MN; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda, Garret, Elayna, Emily, Erin, Kimberly, Karen and Shannon; three special grandchildren, Jimmy, Mark and Rachel Peterson; a sister Ruth Squires of Winona and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold, brother, David, an infant brother, and two grandsons, Shawn and Matt.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 11:00am at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in St. Charles, MN with the Rev. Michael Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Dover, MN. Friends may call on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes ? St. Charles Chapel from 5-8:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
