Harvey “Hal” Andrew Hetland, age 85, went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2024, at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston, Minnesota. He was born in Mitchell, South Dakota, and was the oldest of two boys, David, to Archie and Rachel Hetland.

Hal was a devoted family man and a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and son. After graduating from Mitchell High School, he enlisted into The United States Air Force where he developed lifelong friendships. After his discharge from the Air Force, he moved to California where he met his future wife, Patricia Randall. It was Hal and Pat’s dream to live in the country at the end of a dead-end road. It was this desire that brought them to the beautiful town of Houston, Minnesota where they enjoyed raising their family and caring for the land.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Pat) of 60 years, two daughters, Patrice (Chad) Nelson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Tiffany (Paul) Barth of Raleigh, North Carolina, along with granddaughters, Angelika Barth, Astrid Barth, and grandsons, Axel Barth, Gunnar (Savannah) Nelson and Tor Nelson.

There will be a Memorial Service for Hal on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 3 p.m., and Visitation and Reception following at 4 p.m. at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, 301 South Ellsworth, Houston, Minnesota.
