Lewiston, Harris A. Jonsgaard, 75, of Lewiston died Tuesday September 21 at his home.Harris was born March 15, 1929 in Fremont Township of Winona County to Harry and Agnes (Bailey) Jonsgaard. On March 31, 1948 he and Bernice Mueller were married in Lewiston. Harris owned and operated Jonsgaard Trucking for 37 years. Following his retirement from trucking he became custodian of Immanuel Lutheran Church and school at Silo. He later became janitor at Security State Bank in Lewiston. Harris was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Silo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auctions and playing cards with family and friends. Survivors include his wife Bernice, seven children; Karen (Larry) Buxcel of Hutchinson, Beverly (Ray) Gilliam of Brownsdale, Leland of Lewiston, LeRoy (Laura) of Stockton, Kevin (Carrie) of Minnesota City, Jodi (Robert) VanPelt of Austin and Kelly (Patrick) Kalmes of West Bend, WI, 10 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three step great-grandchildren, seven brothers; Marvin (Yvonne), Harold (Anah), Allen (Jean), Curtis, Arvid (Pat), Wilbert (Pattie), Eldon (Caroline) all from the area.Preceding him in death are his parents and two sisters.Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Silo in rural Lewiston with the Rev. William Meilner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 PM Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? Lewiston Chapel. They may also call one hour before services at the church.Memorials are preferred.
