Harriet Elizabeth Buckbee

UTICA, MN. Harriet Elizabeth Buckbee, 84, of rural Utica, died on Friday, October 28, 2005, on the family farm. Harriet was born May 18, 1921 in Winona, MN to August C. and Helen (Krage) Flemming. She graduated from Winona Senior High School and Winona State Teachers College. She taught elementary school at Adams, MN, Chatfield, MN, La Crosse, WI, and Lewiston, MN schools before retiring to the family farm to raise her family. She married Jesse Buckbee on August 4, 1956 in Kankakee, IL. He died November 9, 1994. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading books, and the Bible, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Winona. Harriet is survived by two sons; Steve ( Joyce) Buckbee, Utica, MN, and Kevin Buckbee, Utica, MN, and three grandchildren; Jordan, Jessica, and Justin. She is also survived by a brother James Flemming and a sister Helen Flemming, both of Winona. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jesse and three brother's Roger Buckbee, and Earl and Lester Flemming. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Winona. Rev. Christine Robinson will be the officiant. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Worth Cemetery in rural Utica. Memorials are suggested to the church.
