Harold (Hutz) Richard Stoos, 88, of Rollingstone, MN, died Sunday, June 11, 2006 at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona, MN. Harold was born on June 10, 1918 to Arthur and Elsie (Nuthak) Stoos in Rollingstone. After graduating from high school, Harold enlisted into the U.S. Army and served during World War II. On October 24, 1953, he married Mary Theresa Stockhausen in Rollingstone. Harold worked all his life as an electrician. He was a partner with Eugene Smith at Tip Top Cable TV and was part owner and operater of Stoos Electric. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Rollingstone, VFW, and American Legion Post #90 in Winona. Harold was on the Rollingstone Fire Department for 30 years and was Chief for 22 of those 30 years. He was on The Rollingstone City Council for 22 years and was Mayor for 8 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons, Larry (Judy) of Winona, MN, Terry (Kathy) of Rollingstone, MN, and John (Wendy) of Rollingstone, MN; two daughters, Carol (Dan) Kalmes of Onalaska, WI and Joan (Rich) Hall of Elgin, MN; 24 grandchildren, Tammi, Josh, Aubrey (Brian) Bergler, Brittany, Kendra, Ahnie, Trey, Carlton, and Isaiah Stoos, Jessica (Merritt) Bebout, Amanda Merchlewitz, Ashley and Taylor Stoos, Danny and Brandon Stoos, Blaise, Chase, and Rhianna Rothering, Peter, Laura, Cori, and Kianna Kalmes, and Matt and Stephanie Hall; four great grandchildren, Tychelle Stoos, Hailey Mohan, Tristan Stevens, and Aliyah Bebout; two brothers, Richard Stoos of Rochester, MN and Myrton (Dorothy) Stoos of Rollingstone, MN. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Robert, grandson Christopher Stoos, and a sister Harriet.A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 15 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Donald Lovas officiating. Burial, with military honors will be held at the church cemetery following the service. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 14 from 5-8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone and also one hour prior to the mass on Thursday.
