Harold O"Donnell

RUSHFORD, MINN. - Harold "Bud" John O'Donnell, 79, of Rushford, died, Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford, following a seven month battle with cancer. He was born to John and Mary (Saunders) O'Donnell on April 17, 1925, on Vinegar Hill, Houston County, Minn. Bud attended Vinegar Hill Country School, District 89. He married Dorothy Kryzer on April 24, 1951, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rushford. Bud had a variety of careers throughout his life including farming, mechanic, logging, truck driver, road construction and owner and operator of Bud's Coffee Shop. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, The Rushford Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years and the Hardwood Country Sportsman Club. He enjoyed trapping, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. Bud especially enjoyed socializing with his friends at Stumpy's. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; two sons: Jack (Jill) O'Donnell and Jim O'Donnell, both of Rushford; Seven daughters: Kathy Zacher, Pat (Ken) Georgens, Nancy (Robin Rislove) O'Donnell, all of Rushford, Teresa (Dave) O'Donnell - Ebner of LaCrescent, Mary Neyers of Minnesota City, Joan (Tom) Kauphusman of Winona and Christi (Tim Brand) O'Donnell of Dakota; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Rose Mary Randall of Houston; and one niece, Rose Ann Laumb of Rushford. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one niece, Mary Lou Duffy. There will be a Memorial Mass on Friday, May 7th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rushford with the Rev. William Kulas officiating. Friends may call from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel, where there will be an 8:00 p.m. prayer service.
