HOFF FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, RUSHFORD, MINN. 507-864-7771HOUSTON, MINN. - Harold Ness Johnson finished his earthly journey on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at the Valley View Healthcare and Rehab Center in Houston, Minn. Harold was born on September 30, 1935, in La Crosse, Wis. to Ness and Hildegard (Krueger) Johnson. Harold was Baptized at South Ridge in rural La Crescent, Minn. and confirmed at Stone Church in Houston. After attending Money Creek School, Harold graduated from Houston High School in 1954. Harold farmed all of his life. He loved the land, his farm, his crops, his animals, and pets. Nothing he liked better than to go for rides in the countryside, viewing the crops and the beauty of God's creation. Besides his love for farming, Harold also loved and devoted his life to caring for his parents. Due to a sledding accident when Harold was a young boy, Harold lost sight in his left eye. Even though it challenged him, Harold persevered and worked hard to enjoy life.His cell phone was his prized possession. Harold loved visiting with people and socializing, whether it was on his cell phone or in person. Time spent at Heritage Court in Houston brought Harold great pleasure in his later years. Because of his interest in many things, reading was always a favorite past time, as well as watching television. Besides the news, favorite programs included, "The Price is Right", Viking and Packer games, and music entertainment, especially Daniel O'Donnell and the Tenors. Rosie's fish dinner in Houston was always a special treat for Harold. His 79th birthday party was celebrated with popcorn and beer. Harold is survived by his loving sister: Renata Peterson of Rushford; nephew, Michael (Anna) Peterson of Houston; great nephew, Jason Peterson (Tara) and their children: Porscha, Zara, and Donovin of Harmony, Minn.; great niece, Tiffany Peterson of Lansing, Iowa; Lindsay Johson (Syed Husain) and their children: Fayed, Saira and Raya of Minneapolis, Minn.; great-great-nephew: Logan Peterson (Samantha) and their child, Isabella of Rushford, Minn.; and by many cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents. He will never leave you or forsake you" Duet 31:6The memorial service for Harold will be at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Houston, Minn. with the Rev. Jan King officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
