Harold LaVern Jonsgaard, 85, of Winona, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Sauer Health Care. He was born on March 20, 1933 to Harry and Agnes (Bailey) Jonsgaard. Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served for 4 months. On Oct. 16, 1954, he married Annah Rose Board in Rushford. In 1962 he built his bride a house overlooking the beautiful Mississippi. Harold worked at a mink farm in Rushford for several years before beginning his career with Watkins as a mechanic, where he was employed for 44 years. After retiring from Watkins, he enjoyed working at Bridges Golf Course, mowing. Harold loved traveling in his motor home with family, camping, snowmobiling, fishing, and carpentry.
Harold is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annah; 3 children, Rodney (Sue) Jonsgaard, Roseannah (Ricky) Nagel, and Lisa (John) Waadevig; 3 grandchildren, Jason (Joni) Jonsgaard, Kari (Matt) Gordon, and Ethan (Emily) Waadevig; 4 great-grandchildren, Bailey and Brady Jonsgaard and Dylan and Paige Gordon; brothers, Arvid (Pat) Jonsgaard, Duane (Carolyn) Jonsgaard, and Wilbert (Patty) Jonsgaard; sisters-in-law, Jean and Bernice Jonsgaard; and grand pets, Bubba, Buckwheat, Tinkerbell, Olaf, Ted and Lacey Lou. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harris, Marvin (Yvonne), Curt, and Allen; and sisters, Donna Mae and Loretta Mae.
A Celebration of Harold's life will be held at 5:30 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2018 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview, led by funeral celebrant Dianne Rislow.
