Harold "Howie" Johnson

April 15, 1939 — November 18, 2017

Harold was born on April 15, 1939 in Fillmore County to Harvey and Bernice (Muns) Johnson. Howie grew up in Rushford and attended school there. At 17, he enlisted in the Navy from 1956-1962. Served on the U.S.S. Fulton and the U.S.S. Stoddard. Graduated after the service from Vo-Tech in Winona for electrician. Harold enjoyed throughout his life, baseball, golfing, bowling, telling stories, dancing, and singing. Most of all he loved his daughters and grandson!!! They were the joy in his life! He will be terribly missed! Harold is survived by his daughters; Casey Johnson of Madison; grandson, Emmette; sister, Rosemarie Moeben of Peterson, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; ex-wife and friend, Melody Johnson, Crystal Cady of Winona. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Jerry Johnson; sisters, Yvonne Jonsgaard and Marilyn Brand; baby sister, Laurie Anne; brother-in-laws, Marvin Jonsgaard and Vernon Brand. Visitation will be Wed., Nov. 29 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford, MN. Burial at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Minnesota Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.
