UTICA, MN - Harold Clifford Paulson, 87, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at his home in rural Utica, MN. Born on April 13, 1930, Harold was the son of Carl and Evelyn (Eide) Paulson. Harold attended Grover School and graduated from Peterson High School in 1948. He married Ruth Vehrenkamp on May 29, 1954. Harold and Ruth celebrated 63 years of marriage. They were blessed with six children and welcomed eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandsons.
Harold was a lifelong farmer. Harold and Ruth were the recipients of a Century Farm Award with the farm belonging to his family for over 150 years and three generations. A long time member of Arendahl Lutheran Church, Harold served on numerous committees as well as the Fremont Township Board where he served for 26 years.
With his restored 1952 John Deere B tractor and his restored 1952 Ford pickup, Harold participated in many local parades and shows at the county fairs. Harold was always happy to lend a hand to his neighbors and enjoyed his morning conversations with his buddies at Stumpy's.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; six children: Patti (Lenny) Manna, Vicki (Brad) Fish, Julie (John) Mulhern, Steve (Sharon) Paulson, Cammy (Tim) Harrison, and Carl (Lyse) Paulson; eleven grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Ethel Mae Noyes, Jeanette (Art) Brown, LaVerne (Denise) Paulson, and LaVonne (Jim) Mindrum.
Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Orville.
The funeral service for Harold will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018, at the Arendahl Lutheran Church with The Reverend Sarah Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Arendahl Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
