Winona, Harlon P. Northouse, 86, of rural Winona died Monday morning March 15th at his home. Harlon was born April 21, 1917 in Newburg, MN to Leonard and Mathilda (Velder) Northouse. He married Louise A. Mohney on November 9, 1946 in Spring Grove. Harlon grew up in the Mabel area, working as a farm hand and for Mabel Creamery for 10 years. In 1948 the couple moved to their current homestead in Warren Township of Winona County to pursue his love of farming. Harlon enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and visiting and reminiscing with friends. Harlon was a member of Garness Lutheran Church in rural Mabel. Survivors include his wife Louise, a son Duane (Jane) Northouse of Comfrey, MN, a sister Mavis Jenson of Rushford and his special dog Misty. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Earl and Robert. Funeral Services will be 2 PM Thursday at Garness Lutheran Church in rural Mabel with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? Lewiston Chapel. They may also call from noon until time of services at the church..
