YUCATAN, MNHarley Rostvold, 99, of Yucatan Township died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Gundersen Tweeten Care Center in Spring Grove, MN. Harley was born December 3, 1915 to Ludvig and Helena (Flattum) Rostvold in Preble Township, MN. He attended country school in Choice. On November 4, 1939 he married Violet Bakke in Burr Oak, IA. Together they raised 2 sons, Larry and Neil. Harley was a lifelong farmer and sold Pioneer Seed for many years. Some of his favorite activities included; ski jumping, fishing, going to house parties in his younger years, dancing, golfing, playing cards, taking a nap, eating a good piece of pie, and most of all spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. As a man with a gentle soul and loving personality, Harley will be greatly missed and his stories won't be easily be forgotten.Harley is survived by his Son, Neil (Janice) Rostvold of Yucatan, MN; Grandchildren, Michelle (Darin) Cole, Jodi (Mike) Kadinger, Tami (Chris) Schroeder, Rusty (Jill) Rostvold, Tiffany (Aaron) Wilcox, and Chad Rostvold; 11 Very Special Great-grandchildren; one great, great grandchild on the way; and Former Daughters-in-law, Diane (Dean) Darrington and Sonja (Terry) Rapaich.He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Violet Vernetta (Bakke) Rostvold; son, Larry Jerome Rostvold; his parents and his 6 siblings.Thank you to Tweeten-Lutheran nursing staff, Gundersen-Lutheran Hospice, Lance Renberg with Hoff Funeral Home and Pastor Lane Zaffke.Funeral services will be held 2: 00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Reverend Lane Zaffke officiating. Visitation will take place 4-7 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2015 at Hoff Funeral Home in Houston and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
